Dialysis & Kidney Transplant

The Asiri Kidney Transplant Centres are specialised in providing diagnosis, management and treatment of kidney disease and kidney transplantation. Our team of leading doctors are well qualified and experienced in performing kidney transplantation, with high success rates.

Our processes are defined by our commitment to providing the finest patient care from the point of pre-transplant evaluation to post-operative management.

Kidney transplantation allows people with end stage kidney failure to avoid or eliminate the need for dialysis and prolongs life.

While there are multiple benefits from a kidney transplant, it is a major surgical procedure that involves certain risks.

Our Services & Treatments

Pre-Transplant Evaluation:

This evaluation includes a review of the patient's medical history, physical examination, and blood investigations. The objective here is to identify any possible risks and decide whether the patient is a good candidate for a kidney transplant.

Donor Evaluation:

If the patient is planning to receive a kidney transplant from a living donor, the donor also needs to be evaluated.

Ethical Committee Approvals:

A meeting will be arranged with the Ethical Committee of the Ministry of Health for clearance on the ethical & legal aspects relating to both donor & recipient and for authorization to proceed with the transplant.

Multi-Disciplinary Team Meeting:

The Kidney Transplant team, which consists of the representation of Specialists of multiple disciplines, will gather to discuss and evaluate the conditions of the patient & donor. This team will counsel the patient and family explaining to them the process & the post- surgical care required.

Kidney Transplant Surgery:

A kidney transplant surgery is performed by a team made up of a Vascular Surgeon, Anesthetist, Nephrologists and a team of nurses. The surgery typically takes several hours and involves placing the new kidney in the patient's lower abdomen.

The patient will be required to stay in the hospital for a minimum of 7 days following surgery for observation and healing. After discharge from the hospital, the patient will need to follow up with their transplant team on a routine basis to manage and monitor their condition and medication.

President Fund Approval:

We arrange the facility to obtain support from this fund.
